Caressed by salt air and ocean breezes, the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum enjoys a unique beachside setting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With the charm of its fomer beach house incarnation and the intimacy and tranquility of its contemporary galleries, the Art Museum is easily accessed from throughout South Carolina's Grand Strand.

The Art Museum is located in Myrtle Beach across from Springmaid Pier on South Ocean Boulevard near its junction with South Kings Highway (Business 17). Click here for larger map.

From Highway 17 Business
  • At the Myrtle Beach traffic light intersection of Highway 17 Business (also called South Kings Highway) and South Ocean Boulevard (called Howard Parkway if proceeding west onto the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base), turn east onto South Ocean Boulevard.
  • The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is a short distance on the east side of the road in front of Springmaid Pier.

    From Highway 501
  • Entering Myrtle Beach on Highway 501, turn south onto Highway 17 Business (also called Kings Highway).
  • Continue south on Highway 17 Business to the traffic light intersection of Highway 17 Business and South Ocean Boulevard (called Howard Parkway if proceeding west onto the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base).
  • Turn east onto South Ocean Boulevard.
  • The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is a short distance on the east side of the road in front of Springmaid Pier.

    From Highway 17 Bypass and points south
  • Follow Highway 17 North - at Murrells Inlet, bear left to continue on Hwy 17 Bypass
  • Continue north to the intersection with Hwy 707 and make a right turn onto Farrow Parkway (the former MB Air Force base), past Market Common. 
  • Farrow Parkway will intersect with Highway 17 Business - go straight through the traffic light onto Ocean Blvd and the Museum is on the right as you approach the beach
      

    Parking is available in front of and behind the Art Museum.

    Elevator access to the Art Museum is at ground floor under the building. Press the call button, and Museum personnel will send the elevator to the ground floor. A wheelchair can also be provided.
