We strive to engage our community and our visitors through unique and interactive public programs for people of all ages. These include receptions for new exhibits and their artists, when possible; tours, lectures, panel discussions and seminars on topics ranging from literature and the visual arts to current affairs; and our Free Family Day events.

"Art is the increasing effort to compete with the beauty of flowers - and never succeeding." Such were words of Marc Chagall. A passion for nature in the form of flowers, tress, birds and animals fill the artworks every form of his magnificent creations. This lecture will bring this concept of how Chagall brought his love of flowers to his numerous works of art. Flowers were consistently present in his studio to give him inspiration and for making his artistic ideas become reality.

4th Annual Collectors' Event

Sunday, February 22, 2015, 5 - 7 p.m. (preview the artwork at 4 p.m.)

at Collectors Cafe

This event will provide seasoned art collectors and newcomers alike with a great opportunity to acquire works of art while supporting the Art Museum and our community of artists. A drawing for 100 pieces of artwork from local, regional and internationally-known artists. With a $100 ticket admission, each ticket holder will go home with an original work of art valued at $100 and upwards.

 

15th Annual Spring Tour of Homes

Eagerly anticipated each year in Myrtle Beach, the Art Museum's Annual Tour of Homes features an array of spectacular houses and the opportunity to enjoy a buffet luncheon with an ocean view at The Dunes Club.

This lively and unusual fundraiser for the Art Museum features a fun-filled auction of vintage, gently loved, one-of-a-kind and new ladies' handbags in an elegant luncheon setting. This is a wonderful opportunity for ladies who love art to support the Grand Strand's only art museum and to mingle with kindred spirits in a unique way.
