A Photographic Documentary by Farnell & Powell

This exhibit documents motel architecture, owners and guests as well as explores issues of economic sustainability and the meaning of place. This exhibit consists of 25 photographs enriched with contextual information provided by scholars in humanities and business.

Bornin 1944 in Honea Patch, South Carolina, William Jameson always felt strong ties to his native region. Today, he and his wife, Anne, also a painter, reside in Saluda, North Carolina. Bill credits growing-up surrounded by the beauty and rich history of South Carolina with inspiring his childhood ambition of becoming an artist.

Studio Wednesdays

Children with an aptitude for the visual arts will have an opportunity to participate in more advanced activities. Exploring various mediums, keeping a sketch journal, critiquing works of art, meeting new artists and incorporating the elements and principles of design into their own artwork are all part of this deeper, richer learning experience. Reservations required, 238-2510.

$35 for members; $50 for non-members. $10 supply fee (includes drawing board and sketch book)
